As the screen lights up and The Polar Express begins, the park glows with twinkling lights and the warmth of community. Newberry Elf’s Big Give

Get ready for a night of holiday joy and giving at Newberry Elf’s Big Give on Friday, December 20th from 4–7 PM at Seaboard Drive!

Families across Newberry are invited to join Commissioner Tony “The Newberry Elf” Mazon and the City of Newberry for an evening filled with Christmas fun, food, and free gifts. Kids can enjoy a free meal, and families will have access to meal kits and clothing giveaways — plus, don’t miss your chance to win amazing prizes like bikes, electronics, and more in our holiday raffle!

Bring the whole family and celebrate the spirit of giving as our community comes together to share joy, kindness, and a little Christmas magic.

Gather your friends, family and coworkers and build the best Gingerbread House you can to compete in our 3rd annual Nana's Gingerbread Decorating Contest at 4:00pm. After enjoying the contest walk on over to Barry Park where the festivities will continue at 5:00pm. There will be snow flurries, music and fun while you watch the parade come through downtown.

Get ready to get creative at the Anything But a Car Contest! Hosted by the Newberry Area Chamber of Commerce, this fun holiday competition invites you to decorate your most festive non-car ride — tractors, golf carts, wagons, bikes, scooters, anything goes! Participants will join the Christmas Parade, rolling together behind the NACC “float,” and the first-place winner will receive a $100 gift card and lead the group in the parade. It’s a joyful, community-centered way to show your holiday spirit and add extra magic to this year’s celebration. Let your imagination roll!

There’s no better way to wrap up the season than with the annual Newberry Christmas Parade! Presented by the Newberry Main Street Organization, in partnership with the City of Newberry, on Saturday December 20th. This beloved event fills the streets with dazzling floats created by our very own community, twinkling lights, and cheerful holiday music. Families, friends, and neighbors line the streets to watch the procession along Main Street, waving and cheering as it makes its way through downtown. Local businesses join in the fun with special holiday sales, treats, and activities, adding even more magic to the day. It’s a picture-perfect small-town celebration that captures the heart and spirit of Newberry during the holidays.
